Saving the Songbirds at Bali Starling Aviary

Saving the Songbirds at Bali Starling Aviary

Did you know that Bali has its own unique species of bird called the Bali Starling? This beautiful bird is only found in Bali but is unfortunately critically endangered due to the destruction of the bird’s natural habitat and the illegal wildlife trade. Bali Safari and Marine Park is actively involved in both on-site and off-site conservation work to help save this beautiful bird from extinction.

On 6th November Bali Safari & Marine Park proudly opened its new animal attraction; ‘The Bali Starling Aviary’ to share the important message about Indonesia’s endangered birds. A visit to the aviary is an opportunity for visitors to learn more about Indonesia’s bird species, including the Asian Glossy Starling, Oriental Magpie Robin, Zebra Dove, Green Pigeon and many more. Located next to the Bali Agung Theatre, the Aviary gives visitors the sensation of being in a lush forest setting.

The ‘Bali Starling Aviary’ is a definite must-see when you’re at the Bali Safari & Marine Park. Here’s your chance to see why this pretty and charming songbird with its white body and characteristic blue markings across its eyes is the national mascot for the wildlife of Bali. While you’re there, don’t miss out on a family-friendly safari adventure to meet and feed the park’s free-roaming wild animals, ride elephants, embark on a Night Safari or dine with the lions at Tsavo Lion Restaurant!
