Escape the harsh realities of life with a lavish spa treatment at the award-winning DaLa Spa. Located at Alaya Resort Ubud on Jl. Hanoman, DaLa Spa is one of Bali’s most luxurious day spas, unique in its offerings as it embraces the wonders of Indonesia’s rich beauty heritage through its decadent spa menu. Every treatment here is carefully designed to honour Indonesia’s age-old wellness and beauty traditions that have conquered the test of time.
Designed as an opulent wellness facility where personal indulgence takes on a whole new meaning, guests will find 6 magnificent treatment rooms, each one named after an exotic flower with different interior themes, colour and ambience. Resplendent silk curtains, brocade wallpaper, glass chandeliers and regal standalone baths add to the romance of it all, but these are only mere prelude to the unbeatable head-to-toe experience that awaits. By setting a mood through the use of lighting, décor, music and essential oils, DaLa Spa takes you on a personalized journey that evokes the senses. Your experience begins the minute you step foot in the spa lobby; a delightful pavilion cocooned amidst nature and beautifully designed with elements of wood and stone, and high vaulted ceilings with timeless elegant décor to transport you to a place of peace.
A signature treatment that is unique to the DaLa Spa at Alaya Resort Ubud is the “Manis Klepon”, two hours of bliss inspired by the traditional Balinese rice flour cake. Klepon means cake in Balinese and Manis means sweet and all ingredients used during the treatment mirrors the exact ingredients used in a traditional Manis Klepon. This 120 minute treatment is priced at just IDR 1,023,000 nett per person and begins with a luxuriating feet ritual where the feet and lower legs are bathed in scented water and flower petals, a tender foot scrub and light foot massage. This is followed by a heavenly head to toe Balinese body massage with long strokes and applications of pressure for deep relaxation using aromatic natural oils made with ginger, cinnamon and cloves to ignite the senses. To eliminate impurities, an exfoliating scrub made with coconut and palm sugar is applied to the body, followed by a fragrant body mask made with pandanus and suji leaves. The best part of the treatment comes right at the end when you’ll get to soak in a deliciously warm and fragrant bath filled with seven different types of colourful Balinese fresh flowers and a few drops of scented oils for a purifying experience.
The name DaLa embodies the Sanskrit word for leaf, a symbol of the eternal cycle of life and the quest for vitality. As a child of Mother Nature, the leaf is a symbol of the eternal cycle of life and the quest for vitality.
