FUN FOR THE FAMILY
AT SUSHI TEI BALI
Who would have thought that dining on fresh and delicious Japanese food here in Bali could also be educational? Here at Sushi Tei Bali, the whole family will be sure to have an uplifting good time when visiting the restaurant at its outlet on Sunset Road. If you’re a long-time fan, you’ll know that Sushi Tei Bali offers more than just mouthwatering Japanese delicacies. Not only will you find some of the most sumptuous Sushi, Tempura, Sashimi, Sukiyaki, Agemono, Nabemono, Yakimono and more, there are also fun and age-appropriate activities for everyone to partake in.
Designed for growing young minds, Tour de Sushi Tei is one such activity; this exciting 2-hour program is great for children from 4 to 6 years old. Priced at just IDR 75,000 per child, Tour de Sushi Tei takes the little ones on a guided tour of the restaurant on Sunset Road. The program begins with an introduction to Japanese cuisine including the origins and types of Japanese food, followed by a delicious meal of Tamago Maki, Inari Tuna Salad and Kani Corn Gunkan while learning the correct way of using chopsticks before a fun question and answer session. The kiddies will then get an exciting glimpse of the restaurant’s kitchens via the “Show & Tell” segment. Here, they’ll see techniques involved in slicing a salmon and learn how to make the ever tantalizing makimono (rolled rice sushi) followed by a walkabout through the restaurant’s dining, garden and bar areas. Tour de Sushi is a morning of fun that begins at 9.30am and ends at 11.30am. The best part is, all participants will be awarded a certificate of participation and a souvenir that they can take home as a memento. To book this tour, just call ahead in advance to secure your slot.
While the little ones are busy learning and having fun, teenagers and adults can try their hand at the Sushi Tei Bali’s Cooking Class. Held once every few months, this is a great opportunity for mom and daughter or father and son to learn how to make all kinds of sushi including Maki, Nigiri and Temaki directly from Sushi Tei Bali’s Executive Chef, Takeshi Ogino. Towards the end of the class, there will be a simple competition where participants can show off their best sushi creations. The winner would win dining vouchers to dine at Sushi Tei Bali as well as prizes worth IDR 800,000. Previously held on 11 August 2018 with the theme “Mom and Me”, the cooking class is priced at just IDR 300,000 per couple and is available for only 20 participants per class.
