Auj-e Taqaddas, British, faces 1 year in Bali’s jail after the attorney found her guilty for slapping the immigration officer at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport. She is sentenced according to Article 212 of Criminal Code as the attorney, I Nyoman Triarta Kurniawan, read the sentence on Monday (7/1) in Denpasar District Court.
Taqaddas is proven guilty for what she have done as the prosecutors called Taqaddas to be proven emotionally for throwing an airport tantrum against the officer who was on duty.
According to the report, it is stated that the officer found the woman was overstayed in Bali and so then she was headed to the immigration room as she was in anger while cursing at the officer. When the officer was holding her passport and trying to explain about her overstaying, she tried to take it off but couldn’t, and then she suddenly slapped the officer on his left cheek. The officer kept trying to calm her until the police came.
Triarta also called Taqaddas behavior has made a negative impact to the community.
