Kemiri, a chic and secluded restaurant by COMO Uma Ubud is proud to be launching a new dinner service alongside new Indonesian and Balinese menus served amongst the lush Balinese jungle, and only a stone’s throw away from Ubud town.

Kemiri, which means ‘candlenut’ in Indonesian, was designed by Japanese architect Koichiro Ikebuchi and is located at the heart of COMO Uma Ubud in Jalan Sanggingan. Surrounded by a waterfall-fed pond and Balinese jungle, the restaurant seats 70 in an open-air space in addition to an intimate private dining bale for six. The new dinner menu at Kemiri is Indonesian inspired and hand-crafted by Executive Chef Dewa Artana and Daniel Moran, Head Chef of COMO Hotels. The Indonesian menu focuses on local and indigenous spices with signature dishes including Grilled Pomelo Salad, Wok-Fried Beef and Green Tea Pannacotta. In addition, Kemiri will also serve Balinese-inspired dinner every Wednesday evening, which includes a rich selection of local cuisines such as smoked duck, wok-fried squid and sweet cassava cakes. The Wednesday Balinese Experience will also include a traditional dance performance for guests to enjoy while surrounded by nature. Gede Suteja, General Manager, COMO Uma Ubud, states: “We are thrilled to be opening Kemiri to outside guests for dinners, allowing tourists and locals to enjoy our take on Indonesian and Balinese food in a tranquil and sophisticated environment only a few minutes away from bustling Ubud town centre.”

Kemiri Restaurant is open daily from 6.00pm to 10.30pm. The Wednesday Balinese Experience starts from IDR 310,000 for two courses and paired wine is available with an additional charge from IDR 180,000. On Mondays, guests can dine by the poolside at Uma Bar BBQ for Balinese Ribs N’ Bibs between 5.30pm and 9.30pm as COMO Uma Ubud chefs serve up Balinese-spiced spare ribs, sausages and more. Special ‘smoky’ cocktails are also available to quench your thirst. Those looking for a taste of traditional Indonesian Street Food can come by to Uma Bar every Friday for Street Eats from 5.30pm to 9.30pm for small dishes that are the perfect match for a tropical sundowner cocktail.
