With the growth and expansion of real estate development in Bali, the fast paced schedule of newly opened restaurants, villas, and overall vacation playgrounds for tourists and locals alike continues to grow at an astonishing rate. There is one entertainment centre though that seems to encompass all that caters to every traveller’s whim; its here at KLAPA that leisure and business are all part of a bigger plan. KLAPA is being billed as Bali’s newest grandiose international event and pleasure venue and is surely to become the place to go for all kinds of meetings and gatherings of any kind in 2009.

Just recently opened in February 2009, KLAPA has been strategically built high upon the cliff tops of the newly named New Kuta Beach with an absolutely amazing and unforgettable view of the Indian Ocean. Consisting of a neighbouring international golf course and 5-star hotel, KLAPA is a shining star with a modern fusion of tropical open spaces, large terraces, and an immense main building that will eventually house everything from spa facilities to multiple nightclubs to restaurants and lounges. Did we mention the exquisite beach club with world-class surfing at its edges? Yes, KLAPA has the whole lot.

Once you reach the open garden plaza after waltzing down a large spiralled staircase, the view really takes you in. Its here already that sunset parties and conventions are being organized weekly, and with these kinds of functions happening regularly, superb dining and service are a necessity. From the sizeable swimming pool and outdoor seating areas to the indoor bar and restaurant, attentive and helpful staff are there waiting to fulfill any request you may have. With the dynamic ideas of what KLAPA is to be, the dining becomes equally important as well with a medley of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine that will satisfy visitors from regions all over. Appetizers and snacks ranging from croquettes, seafood chowders, and the head chef’s personal favourite creation, goat’s cheese salad, sum up the variety one can expect from such a magnificent place. Of course the main entrees take the spotlight with choice selections of ocean trout, braised bamboo lobster, and imported grilled wagyu beef tenderloin and Australian sirloin steak as obvious choices for gastronomic pleasure. Linguine prawn and fettuccini carbonara highlight the pasta menu and sandwiches and pizzas make for great midday lunch cuisine as well.

Entertainment is high on the list of must dos while at KLAPA and there is no better way to kick things off by diving headfirst into their classic cocktail menu of martinis, Manhattans, and margaritas. Mojitos and champagne cocktails make for splendid sunset drinks to take you away for the night and their extensive rum and tequila cocktail list will make even the most wild partygoers ponder which poison to try next. A complete list of local and imported beers along with coffee cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks make it a safe bet that all thirst desires will be quenched.

At such a grand place it is quite special when so much attention is given to detail. At KLAPA, this larger than life complex offers every vice for guests and with views of rolling hills and breathtaking sunsets its not much of a surprise that bigger and better things are bound to come.
