It’s French, and it’s tres bien. An array of fine cuisine awaits you in Gado Gado and your taste buds will do the “can-can” upon tasting them. Most of the main ingredients are imported and ensured to be the finest in quality. With the overwhelming options of fusion dishes in Bali, it is sometimes hard to get your tongues on the classics, and that includes French cuisine. However, one might feel relieved at the sight of Gado Gado Restaurant in Seminyak. Promoting classic exclusiveness with dainty flavors that never go out of style, the restaurant stands firm to the devotees of gastronomic pleasure.
It is recommended to try the Poach Oyster, for starters its simply heavenly. The Champagne Cream sauce is cooked to achieve the tempting light cream color. Another starter that’s a shame to miss is the ‘Crab on Toast’. The crab has a cool, dissolving texture to it, and the crunchiness of the toast is nicely complimented by the creamy avocado sauce.
Gado Gado endows much pride in its Sea Bream with mint fennel and asparagus. The experienced Executive Chef, Quirijn Rademaker, claims that he merely uses olive oil and vinegar in the process. This is to enhance the true flavour of the Sea Bream and to keep the taste light and authentic. The result is a mild, exquisite flavor that can only be attained by a seemingly humble, yet undeniably skillful choice of cooking. To have something sweet is always a great way to close your cuisine expedition. At Gado Gado it is the heavenly sweet and sour combination of Rhubarb Granite and Bavarois Crumble. Dressed with strawberries, they taste simple and sophisticated, like a pleasant little gift from a far-off land.
Gado Gado is an example of timeless class. From the exterior and interior, it is doubtlessly clean, tropical and inviting. Romantic and classic decor provide the much sought-after blend of cozy and chic. In addition, a very cozy lounge with large sofas is available for those who are waiting for appointments or who are just there to sip on first-class wines. Soft background music to accompany the diners is played non-stop. A bar with many choices of wine ranging from the 1980s is also available, along with choices of cigars. It is simply the perfect spot to enjoy a late breakfast, a nice lunch by the sea, a few drinks while watching the sunset or a romantic candlelit dinner under the stars of the “Island of the Gods”.
