At Dodos, the interior is equally cozy with soft, warm white colors and fresh plants in the garden to nestle into. The food is as fresh and homemade as can be. At Dodos there’s no oil, butter, sugar and ‘M.S.G’ in the kitchen. They don’t use heavy sauces or added fats to make the food taste good. Instead, the flavor comes from fresh ingredients. The freshness of the products stand on their own and is the key ingredient.
Usually, something that is good for your body doesn’t share the same purpose for your tongue, but not at Dodos. Selections on a recent visit included many choices that could be described as indulgent. Olive oil and only fresh seafood are the formula in their delicious signature dish, ‘Seafood Spaghetti’. You can even eat healthy fast food at Dodos. The beef in the ‘Beef Burger’ is oil and flour free and only fried with olive oil. Most dishes are priced between Rp 15.000 – Rp 40.000. While the entrees won’t leave you hungry, they aren’t designed for doggie bags. The meals follow dietary guidelines and portion control. That means no plates overflowing with hulking slabs of red meat or enough pasta to feed a family. You can order everything and not feel like you’ve over-indulged.
For breakfast specialties, Dodos found a unique way to eat oatmeal. Dodos’ oatmeal is blended with fresh banana, strawberry, orange and honey. After you read this you won’t have any excuse to not include oatmeal on your menu. Not only it is healthy, but it’s also an addictive indulgence, and in this case addiction is definitely not a problem. For those who need a kick for their early start, Dodos’ ‘Mint Wake Up’ is a great change rather than injecting caffeine into your body. A mix of fresh orange, strawberry, lime, honey and mint gives you that special delicious ‘tang’ in your taste buds that will certainly wake you up.
For any of you that have seen the film “Super-Size Me”, you saw how eating fast food every day was very bad for your health. You can now make the right choices and look after your body and have fun doing it…at Dodos of course.
