What’s the secret to unbelievably delicious food? Find out at Kori Restaurant & Bar
Founded by Ibu Made Jati who is also the heart and soul behind the famous Uluwatu Handmade Balinese Lace brand, the restaurant has been serving culinary thrills with every plate since 1998. Ibu Made Jati, a true Balinese success story herself, is present through the food, service, décor and in the romantic and cozy ambience of the restaurant. Rising to success through love, hard work and passion, she took with her an entire group of loyal and passionate staff members who deliver her visions through impeccable and heartwarming service. One such example would be Chef Jaya. It’s been 17 years since opening and he’s still going on strong and better than ever. His delectable creations remain the talk of the town and many have returned from far and wide just to savor his mouthwatering delicacies. We tried the Focaccia Bread – a classic Kori favorite – dipped in succulent smoked eggplant, guacamole and spicy lentil before enjoying our main course of sautéed fresh king prawns in garlic and oyster sauce with Bedugul vegetables and steamed rice and char – grilled chicken breast marinated in Chef Jaya’s seasoning served on garlic spaghetti with avocado salad. In short, it took all our strengths not to lick the plates when we were done!
We felt sorry when lunch was over and we had to leave. The restaurant has a magical charm, making you want to sit and linger over a cup of coffee while gazing at the tortoises splashing in the pond and enjoying the cool wind rustling through the greens. Kori Restaurant & Bar is truly a must visit while you’re here in Bali.
