An iconic tourist destination, the GWK Statue is a 120.9 meter-tall and 64 meter wide depiction of the Hindu God Vishnu riding a Garuda bird. This statue is so large that you can see its majestic form from almost anywhere in South Bali!
Conceptualized and designed by Balinese maestro, I Nyoman Nuarta, the GWK Statue is the 4th largest in the world and serves as a symbol of loyalty, strength and responsibility. It is located within the GWK Cultural Park itself, which sprawls across 60 hectares. In addition to the Statue Tour, you can also enjoy traditional Balinese performances, indulge in delicious food at the park’s two restaurants, take in breathtaking views amidst gorgeous natural settings such as the park’s limestone cliffs landscaping and explore Plaza Wisnu, the Lotus Pond, Festival Park, Amphitheater, Indraloka Park, Tirta Amertha and so on. The new GWK Statue Tour is exciting as it lets you explore the entire heights and interior of the grand statue itself! It’s definitely for the brave and the adventurous as the statue is as tall as a 23-floor skyscraper.

To participate in the Statue Tour at GWK Cultural Park, simply head to the park and purchase an entrance ticket at Rp. 125,000 per adult. Thereafter, you could either walk to the Statue or have a shuttle drive you to the Statue for IDR 30,000 per person. At the Ground Floor of the Statue, you’ll need to purchase a separate ticket to the Statue Tour, which is priced at IDR 200,000 per person. The tour takes 45-minutes and you are required to use protective shoe covers, keep your personal belongings including cameras and phones in your locker and follow directions from the tour guide at all times. On this tour, you’ll learn all about the legend, history and the making of the statue including looking at sketches, module pieces, installation process and related studies. At an altitude of 88 meters above the ground, you’ll get to be one of the lucky few to see all of Bali from such an astounding height. This is also where the group photo will be taken, so you’ll have a wonderful souvenir photo to take home.
Please be aware though that this tour is not permitted for the elderly, pregnant women, children under 12 years old and wheelchair users. During the tour the participants are forbidden to eat, drink, smoke, bring their luggage or anything else that are deemed flammable or explosive.
