Denpasar police arrested two Indian citizens with a package containing 3 kilograms of meth on Tuesday (9/3), Kompas reports. The two were arrested in a hotel room in Benoa, Bali after their Jakarta-Bali flight on the previous Monday (9/2).
“Around 10.30 AM, officers saw both suspects in Hotel X at Kuta Selatan then arrested them,” told Ruddi Setiawan, the Chief of Denpasar police on Wednesday (9/4).
The 23-year-old Manjet Singh and the 26-year-old Harvinder Singh deceived the airport officers by hiding the evidence in a modified white paper with tape inside the suitcase.
“They flew to Bali and hid the 3 kg of meth in a modified white paper and put them inside the suitcase,” told Ruddi.
The package was about to be delivered to a person who resides in Bali.
“They will deliver it (the package) to someone in Bali, and they wait for commands from India. They received it (the package) from someone in Jakarta,”
The meth was delivered straight from India to Jakarta by an unknown person and then to Bali by Manjet and Harvinder themselves. Both also confessed that they will get IDR 10 million for every package delivered. The police suspect that this was their seventh operation in Indonesia, also their third operation in Bali. The investigation is still underway.
