The Canggu Berawa – Batu Bolong shortcut road will have a major improvement in 2020, Warta Bali Online reports. Badung has set aside IDR 84 billion to widen the famous shortcut road in Canggu.
The Head of Badung’s Directorate General of Spatial Planning and Development (PUPR), IB Surya Suamba explained that the agency has planned at least six projects for Canggu, “We have planned several projects for infrastructure improvements, including for roads, bridges and sidewalks for Canggu,” This is also including the improvements on Canggu-Batubolong shortcut road.
The increasing road users in the Canggu Berawa-Batubolong shortcut road have created a severe traffic jam and multiple incidents. The street is narrow and is often full with both four-wheeled vehicles and motorbikes. This is quite disappointing since now Canggu has become a major tourism destination in Bali with many hotels, villas and restaurants.
The Head of Canggu Village, I Nengah Lana, commented that the improvements for the Canggu Berawa-Batu bolong shortcut road are essentials, especially with the fact that the area have given 30 to 35 percent to the Badung’s revenue.
