The Bali province is on alert as the outbreak of a new deadly type of flu virus in Wuhan, China, Kontan.Co.Id reports. The Health Agency Bali has ordered the Ngurah Rai Airport and port authorities to install multiple thermal scanners as per instruction by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Terawan Agus Putranto.
“We quickly ordered the airport and the sea port authorities to anticipate this new type of virus as per the instruction by the Minister of Health,” stated the Head of Bali’s Agency of Health, I Ketut Suarjaya on Friday (17/1).
He further explained that if travellers with the symptoms, they will be isolated and monitored. He also added that the virus will caused lung infections with symptoms including cold and fever.
“Because that the virus attacks lungs, so (the symptom will be) cough, cold and trouble breathing,” added Suarjaya.
This deadly new super virus was first detected in Wuhan, China, and infected and killed many others across South East Asia countries, including Thailand and the recent ones in Japan. The incident has triggered the Indonesian Ministry of Health to order tighter securities on airports and sea ports from travellers because they have a greater chance to spread the virus.
