The Indonesian airline, Citilink, recently opens new flight route to the International Mozes Kilangin Airport in Timika, Papua from Bali’s International Ngurah Rai Airport, Warta Ekonomi reports. The airline took its first flight on Friday (31/1). Using an Airbus A320, the flight will be open for four times in a week; on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“The opening of this new route is as the commitment from Citilink Indonesia to support the program by the Indonesian government in Papua’s improvements and welfares through this air transportation to and from Timika,” commented Juliandra, the President Director of Citilink Indonesia.
This is the airline’s second route to Papua after its Denpasar-Jayapura route. Now with this new route, travellers who depart from Bali can enjoy easier access to some of Papua’s popular tourism destination such as Raja Ampat.
For your information, the flight will take off from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport on 09.55 Bali time and is scheduled to arrive in Timika’s Mozes Kilangin Airport on 14.25 Papua time with flight number QG 260. The airline also serves flights from Timika to Bali every 15.10 Papua time and is scheduled to arrive in Bali on 17.40 Bali time.
