Raya Legian has been building its legacy since 1990, when it first opened its doors to hungry travellers worldwide.
Cocooned within its own timeless charm, the atmosphere at Kopi Pot belies the tumult outside. The beautiful wood-and-brick building brings to mind Bali from a quieter time. Soaring alang-alang roofs allow for maximum light and air and glowing brass fixtures add to the romance of it all. Dine in the golden sunshine or in the glimmering twilight under fragrant foliage or indoors under beautiful antique lighting.
The menu at Kopi Pot is a lot like living history; timeless selections that are requested repeatedly by returning customers and enjoyed by countless diners, even celebrities such as Oliver Beerhoff, world-famous footballer. New additions are included yearly. The most popular and longest-standing dish is the Pork Spare Ribs; so juicy, so tender and flavoursome that the meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth in a plethora of flavours. According to the Chief Cook, Pak Man “Cake” who has been with the company since before Kopi Pot opened; his “secret” is apparently no secret at all, just hours of lovingly marinating and warming it all in foil and slow cooking over a tiny fire. Preparation is everything. The Beef Rendang takes two hours to prepare, and all dishes follow a stringent cooking process with recipes that are approved by the discerning owners using only the freshest local ingredients and Balinese vegetables, herbs and spices.
Another favourite is the Spice Crusted Tuna Steak served with teriyaki sauce, ginger, papaya and capsicum salsa. Another huge hit is the Seafood Platter at just IDR 365,000 for two featuring Grilled Lobsters and King Prawns, Breaded Red Snapper Fillet and Squid Rings. There are dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan and vegetarian selections. All dishes are MSG-free. Newer options include the Citrus and Rocket Salad, Chili Prawn Salad, Beefburger and Cheeseburger, Soto Ayam, Sate Lilit, Ayam Panggang Madu, Bebek Goreng and the Gado-Gado. At the Lone Palm Bar, you’ll find refreshing cocktails made with premium spirits, gourmet coffee and tea that are perfect for freshly-made desserts which remain as irresistible as always.
