Confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia increased by 1,624 people on Thursday (2/7). Thus, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus In Indonesia has reached 59,394.

“We have an additional 1,624 confirmed cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 59,394 people” Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 Achmad Yurianto told a press conference at Graha BNPB in Jakarta on Thursday (2/7).

The number of additional confirmed cases of the coronavirus today is a new daily record. Previously, the highest daily number of confirmed cases was 1,385 people, occurring on June 27 and July 1.

The 1,624 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were a result of examining 23,519 specimens.

Nevertheless, people with confirmed cases recovering from the coronavirus also increased. On this day, Covid-19 patients declared recovered reached 1,072 people, bringing the total to 26,667.

Deaths from confirmed cases of Covid-19 also increased by 53 people, bringing the cumulative total to 2,987 nationwide.

The Provincial Government of Bali, via the Covid-19 Task Force, updated Covid-19 developments for the province as follows:

I. Case Updates

1. The cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 1,640 people (an increase of 113 people, consisting of 5 imported cases (domestic) and 108 local transmissions.
2. Recoveries from Covid-19 increased to 875 (increasing by 15 Indonesian citizens, consisting of 15 local transmissions).
3. Official recorded deaths increased to 16 (increasing by 1 Indonesia citizen via local transmission).
4. Confirmed cases in care (active cases) total 749 people spread across in 14 hospitals, quarantined at local health centers and hotels including: UPT Nyitdah, Wisma Bima, Ibis Hotels, Hotel Gran Mega and BPK Pering.

Yurianto said that the most confirmed cases added today came from the province of East Java with 374 cases, followed by greater Jakarta with 190 cases, South Sulawesi 165 cases, Central Java 153 cases, and Bali with 113 cases.
