Based on data from the Covid-19 Task Force, on Tuesday (13/7), Jakarta recorded a daily addition of 12,182 cases. Then, behind him followed West Java with 7,192 cases.
Moving on to the next day, Wednesday (14/7), DKI again recorded the highest addition of cases in Indonesia. That day, the number of positive cases in Jakarta increased by 12,667 cases. DKI again recorded as the area with the highest daily addition of cases with an additional 12,691 cases on Thursday (15/7).
Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria briefly conveyed the reason for Jakarta being the area that contributed the highest Covid-19 cases.
According to Riza, this is due to the massive testing carried out by the DKI Provincial Government. He claimed that DKI’s testing was almost 20 times the target recommended by WHO. “So this is indeed how we improve 3T, even though it is indeed quite difficult for us to continue to improve various facilities,” said Riza some time ago. Until now, the condition of the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia is still quite high. As of Thursday (15/7), the number of positive cases has reached 2,726,803 cases.
Of these, 2,176,412 were declared cured, and 70,192 died. Thus, as of yesterday, there were 480,199 people still under treatment and self-isolation throughout Indonesia.
One of the government’s efforts to suppress the spread of the corona virus is to implement the policy of the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in Java-Bali from 3 to 20 July. The government opens the option to extend the Emergency PPKM. Spokesman for the Covid-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, said the Java-Bali Emergency PPKM is not impossible to extend if the trend of positive cases has not shown signs of slowing down.
